It was in the 1920’s when John Robert Powers came to New York City in pursuit of a career in acting. One day, he needed to gather a group of attractive people for a magazine advertisement, not knowing that it would pave the way for what today is a billion dollar modeling industry.
He founded the first ever modeling agency in 1923. Soon afterwards, he opened the doors to the first personality development academy and created a curriculum that was to be the core for executive skills, modeling, acting and social skills.
Powers believed that there was no such thing as an unattractive person, only people who did not know how to make the most of themselves. Naturalness was his gospel. He encouraged his female students to “make down, instead of make-up”. To date, we still believe in this philosophy. Be yourself. Be natural. Be the best you can be because that is what John Robert Powers is all about.
Famous personalities from the political and movie world make up a long list of people who have gone through the John Robert Powers Programs. First Ladies Jackie Kennedy and Betty Ford, Princess Grace of Monaco, Jennifer Jones, Raquel Welch, Lucille Ball,Ann Margaret, Henry Fonda, Ryan Locke, Albert Tsai (Coop & Cami ask the World), Karan Brar (Bunk’d), Olivia Holt (Cloak & Dagger), Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect 1, 2 & 3), Noah Centineo (All The Boys I’ve Loved Before), Ben Gould (Saved by the Bell), Faith Ford (Murphy Brown Show), Cary Grant, Diana Ross, Kylie Versoza (Miss International 2016), Josh Duhamel, Jessica Sanchez and Brenda Song just to name a few.
For over a century, JRP has been a leader in the entertainment industry, providing education and representation to aspiring models, actors, and singers. From the Golden Age of Hollywood, to the modern era of social media, the company has continually adapted to the changing entertainment landscape. Our legacy is one of creative innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is possible for our clients and providing opportunities for aspiring stars.

Six Degrees
The audition can take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours, so be sure to set aside enough time to fully engage in the process.
Beyond talent, we are also looking for professionalism, focus, and patience. The entertainment industry requires respect for others and the ability to stay present, even when you’re waiting your turn. Treat this as an opportunity to show that you’re serious and ready for this journey. This is your moment, make it count!
There is no cost to audition. This audition serves as a preliminary step to gauge your potential for professional work in the entertainment industry. Without seeing your performance, we wouldn’t be able to assess your strengths or provide meaningful recommendations.
Like many professional pursuits, if you lack experience or training, investing in those areas is often necessary to achieve success. We collaborate with agents, managers, and casting directors from Los Angeles and New York, and this audition helps us identify talent with marketable potential.
We work with Actors, Models, Singers and Dancers.
Even if your primary interest lies in singing, its crucial for us to observe your ability to deliver a script and communicate effectively during interviews. The broader your skill set, the more appealing you become in the market, increasing your chances of securing work in the industry. All audition candidates will be expected to memorize a script appropriate for their age range. During your interview with the Talent Director, simply express your primary interests.
Believe me, you’re not alone. We see this happen all the time and everyone gets nervous. The important thing is to stay calm and keep going.
We highly recommend trying to memorize your script, but if you blank, don’t panic. Have your script handy so you can do a cold read if needed. What matters most is your confidence, energy, and delivery, not perfection.
Many people will be auditioning, but don’t worry, you won’t have to perform in front of the entire group. After we speak to everyone as a whole, you’ll be placed into smaller breakout rooms to audition for a Talent Director.
If you feel nervous about performing right away, you can privately message the Talent Director in the chat and ask to go later, after most have finished.
Remember, life is short. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone. You may surprise yourself with what you’re capable of. You got this!
You should have received your script via email when you registered. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder, as sometimes it may end up there.
If you still don’t see it, please email us at FAQ@JRPVirtual.com, and we’ll forward it to you!
Breaking into film and television can feel overwhelming, especially without the right connections, guidance, and industry know-how. Many aspiring actors waste time, money, and energy chasing opportunities that never materialize, leaving them frustrated and lost.
At JRP Virtual, we don’t work with just anyone. We work with the right talent, those who are serious, committed, and ready to take action. If you’re reading this, it means you have an opportunity to show us if you have what it takes.
For nearly a century, we’ve helped people just like you, passionate dreamers looking for their big break, gain access to the industry’s top agents, managers, casting directors, and celebrity coaches. We open doors, but it’s up to you to step through them.
This isn’t just an audition. It’s a first step toward something bigger. We’re looking for individuals who are willing to show up, put in the work, and take their dreams seriously.
So the question is, are you ready to prove YOU have what it takes?
