Casting Directors will see children with no acting experience which is why starting your acting career is better when you are young. As long as the child has the mentality to work; there is no limit to what they can do. This career like any other will take patience and dedication to the craft and your child will need your utmost support in that area.

Not only should the child be able to take direction and remember lines; they should have a personality for acting. Along with acting classes they should work closely with an acting coach. The child may not be able to attend public school due to shooting schedules however the studio can have a personal tutor come in and work with them on set. There are so many possibilities for a child that matches up with this profile.

It is also easier to find a great agent for children too. They typically love kids with great personalities and who have an interesting look. Though, it is not just about being cute or adorable, it is very often the more unique qualities about your child that make their career. It’s the originality of your child that will make an agent take notice; there is a role for every type of kid.

No matter if your child is five or twelve years old, they should have a certain air of maturity. This helps convince the casting director that they will be able to work with responsibility and will aid in the auditioning process. The first step to take in their career is to get them an agent.
